Indeed, creating a positive learning experience in elementary education is key to developing lifelong learners. When we focus only on the final product—often the grade—we miss the many meaningful moments of growth that happen along the way. By valuing small steps and acknowledging a child’s effort and progress, we create a space for growth.
Later in life, when that child encounters a challenge, they will not be afraid to grow slowly. More than that, they will not settle for standing still. Instead, they will keep going—confident in their ability to persevere, improve, and succeed.
